Brendan Allen says he felt slow against Christian Leroy Duncan despite the fifth round
Allen found success in the ground while Duncan had success in the strikeouts. After losing a point in the second round for an eye poke, Duncan pressed on in the final frame before Allen took him down and secured the finish.
Allen later said he was disappointed despite the win. He had expected to be faster and felt that he had reacted slowly.
“At the end of the day, I’m just disappointed in myself,” Allen said on Paramount+ after the fight. “Haven’t watched it or anything, I just felt like I was really slow and unreactive. I definitely thought I was a lot faster. I still feel like I’m faster after being there.”
