AJ Pierzynski and Erik Kratz react to the breaking news that MLB has proposed sweeping changes to amateur talent acquisition, including eliminating the high school draft and reducing the MLB Draft from 20 rounds to 12. The guys discuss what the proposal could mean for player development, minor league baseball, future free agents, and why they’re concerned about the long-term impact on the sport.
Plus, AJ and Kratz debate the future of the MLB Draft, the possibility of an international draft, and whether these proposed changes are really about improving baseball or simply cutting costs.
