Coming off a successful run in WWE WCW, after the promotion shut down, often meant the wrestler would be buried or humiliated. But in the rare cases of Rey Mysterio, Goldberg, and Booker T, their careers flourished when they entered the WWE.
However, after years of being a part of the WCW roster, stepping into an established locker room could lead to some heat, but Booker insists he never faced that during his time with WWE.
“Ah, I’ve never had a fever. You know, I always understood locker room etiquette and stuff like that,” he said on an episode of his show.Hall of Fame“Podcast. “I’ve always been, you know, one of those guys that you know, I’ve always thought that guys can take it as far as it goes.”
Booker also insisted that he was being honest, adding that the backstage heat didn’t matter to him because the locker room wasn’t cutting his check anyway.
“I always thought if I didn’t get hot with the boss I was fine, and I don’t remember ever getting hot with the boss,” she explained.
“A bully is going to keep messing with you if you don’t fight back,” Booker added, noting that backstage heat is only a topic of discussion because many guys were too afraid to bring it up in the past for fear of getting fired. “It pisses me off, man, it really pisses me off. Why not, you know, tell somebody to, you know, walk? Go jump in the lake.”
Booker also criticized wrestlers who kept the locker room secret because of the heat, noting that while they were worried about getting fired, they were usually fired for other reasons.
