Booker T is thrilled! see his disciple Zillah Fatumade his WWE debut and noticed the similarities between Fatu’s ring gear and item.
Fatou had his first WWE match NXT heat waveand his ring gear, in a way, paid homage to Booker T, who trained him at the Real School of Wrestling. Booker T talked about it in his “Hall of Fameshow, detailing how he knew Fatu was in the zone when he logged in.
“Fatu (was written) right where King (was written) on my trunks and Fatu for his jacket, and I said, And they had the same, you know, logo and everything, you know.” he said “I didn’t see him until he came out. I didn’t see him when he came back. I just saw him at ringside when he got ready to walk to the ring, he stopped and he looked at me for at least a good 5, 6, 7 seconds, almost like growling. It was just rough stealing and I was like, “Oh my God, that’s it.”
The Hall of Famer said he saw a side-by-side photo of himself and Fatu on social media and was excited to see the comparison. He is pleased that Fatu recognizes and represents him, calling it a full-circle moment, and believes he is destined to ascend.
“It let me know that all the teachings have come true. That is, it really is a complete circle. I talked to Zilla about the same thing I talked to Jimmy and Jey (Uso), which is that your losses are better than your wins. At the end, you go back and watch Zilla’s last shot. I’m rolling, you know, so just go back and watch that last shot, and that spoke volumes to me about how far this kid is going to be a big star.”
He hopes Fatu, who has been in controversy before, keeps his hopes up and focuses on getting better.
