After missing two field goals in the team’s Week 5 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Harrison Mevis signed Blake Group as his replacement.
But they could be out of the lineup early in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals.
The new Los Angeles offense came rolling after a shaky start against Arizona, forcing a long comeback fight. You can watch the play in question in this clip below, after he took the return out of bounds and then spun it hard.
The Rams were starting after Grupp attempted a 44-yard field goal to open the scoring for the Rams.
He was seen heading to the locker room, “also hobbling around with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.”
The Rams are listed as questionable to return with a knee injury.
If Grupp can’t return, punter Ethan Evans will handle the kicking duties, while wide receiver Jordan Whittington will likely take over with snaps.
The scoring started early in the second quarter when the Rams picked off a two-point conversion attempt, but Matthew Stafford was sacked and the Cardinals nearly made it back to two points.
This is a developing story and will evolve.
