Becky Lynch has come a long way since her WWE NXT runwith a reformed image and many accolades to his name on the main roster. “The Man” recently looked back on his NXT days with a performance “The Rich Eisen Show” especially remembering how nice one of those times was.
“Back then, the promo class was incredible. It was a variety show.” he said “It was like a talent show, just. “What can you do? Pull it up. Try a character.” None of these characters were going to make it to TV, but it was just throwing it at the wall and seeing what stuck.”
He added that the experience was a creative lesson for him and gave wrestlers a chance to learn how not to be afraid of looking silly in front of an audience. “I remember when I was little, I said this to Paul Heyman. that there was a line in “The Rise and Fall of ECW” (documentary) that always stood out to me. He said: And this was like a microcosm of it, the promo course.
Lynch claimed that these “NXT” promo classes were where the likes of LA Knight, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Sasha Banks and Bayley all developed their personas before going on television and nailing it. “There were these people who got their act together, and then the rest of us who were just trying to figure it out, and it was just amazing,” he recalls. “God, those were the good old days!”
