In the classic novel “Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville, the hero Captain Ahab undertakes to hunt the great white whale, which causes him to lose his leg. For many, Ahab’s pursuit of the white whale has become a symbol of their own goals, and that includes WWE star Baron Corbin. during the interviewTheSportster:“Corbin looked back on his match at this year’s WWE SummerSlam and why it was so important to him.
“I’ve always felt like SummerSlam was my white spot, even though I’ve had some big SummerSlam matches. I had (John) Cena to open SummerSlam, I had Finn Balor, but he took out ‘The Demon’ and that match lasted 4 minutes,” Corbin said.
He also explained that he had two or three other planned SummerSlam matches with the likes of Kalisto and Rey Mysterio that never panned out. Because of these unfortunate potential matches, Corbin says that SummerSlam began to feel like an icon of bad luck and an event that he became unfinished business with. “So to get that opportunity in Minnesota was huge,” he said. – And for the title?
After returning to WWE in July, Corbin defeated Trick Williams at SummerSlam win the United States Championship. However, he would lose the title to Williams at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event next month.
