Barcelona break €1billion revenue barrier in 2025/26, but Espai Barça continues to cost

September 7: Barcelona have broken the €1 billion revenue barrier for the first time in the club’s history, with revenue for the 2025/26 season understood to be close to €1.1 billion despite another season passing without fully using their Camp Nou home.

So far, the club has only confirmed that ordinary income exceeds €1 billion, with Spanish reports putting the final figure at around €1.1 billion. This would be a healthy increase on the €994 million generated the previous season, as Barça say improved stadium revenue, greater sponsorship growth and another record year for Barça Licensing & Merchandising were the main drivers of the increase.

The increase in income came despite the club starting the season without the return of 60,000 capacity Camp Nou that it had initially planned. Instead, home games were split between the Johan Cruyff stadium at their training ground, the short-lived home in Montjuïc and, later, a partially reopened Camp Nou with a maximum capacity of around 42,000. The club had budgeted €1.075 million in ordinary income for the 2025/26 season, which included around €50 million in additional stadium income.

In addition to record revenues, Barça said it has recorded a positive ordinary result for the third consecutive season, but the final net figure has not yet been published. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo suggest the “extraordinary” costs will still leave the club with a small overall loss.

This follows the recent pattern of Barcelona’s financial reports: the club said it made an “ordinary profit” of €2m in 2024/25, but actually ended the year with an after-tax loss of €17m once all costs were accounted for.

At the club’s General Assembly on September 19, members will vote on additional funding for the Espai Barça project, centered on the renovated Camp Nou, as well as a separate bond program backed by future audiovisual revenue, as the urban project continues to demand major investments.

Spanish reports place the additional financing of Espai Barça at around 500 million euros. The club originally raised €1.45 billion for the redevelopment and refinanced €424 million of that debt last year.

Meanwhile, the bond program will have a value of 210 million euros, divided into two tranches of 105 million euros.

Barcelona are also set to discuss more ways to capitalize on the rebuild at next week’s meeting, with members set to vote on long-term deals with Ohana Real Estate Development and Babylon Park Spain, covering a club-brand luxury residential project in Dubai and a family entertainment attraction at the stadium complex.

The club are reportedly budgeting revenue in excess of €1.1 billion for next season, helped by a fuller season at Camp Nou with further capacity increases.
