As recently as July 2026, it was reported that Sheamus will be leaving WWE after nearly two decades with the company. The news was later confirmed by the man himself as he had decided not to renew his contract with WWE and there was no moved to alumni page company website same week. However, his contract officially expired on October 1st, meaning he is now a free agent, and the first question people have asked Sheamus is if he will join AEW.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select An AEW source has spoken to the possibility of bringing Sheamus to the company in the near future, and while there have been no discussions between the two sides at the time of writing, there is likely some interest from AEW in signing Sheamus to a full-time deal. An AEW source confirmed that Sheamus has received some support from several performers in the locker room on the idea of going All Elite, though no possible timelines for when or if he might join have been discussed. It is known that Sheamus turned down WWE’s revised offer when he was approached with a restructured deal.
AEW has beefed up their roster significantly over the past few months. In late July, the Motor City Machine Guns officially signed with the company as free agents and were quickly joined by Austin Creed and Coffey, now known as The New Level at AEW All In London 2026. Dani Luna will become “All Elite” as she debuted at AEW All Out 2026 and previously in September 2026. Ilya Dragunov is also said to be heading to AEW but he still has no confirmed date for his debut.
