PWInsider Elite: Provided an update on Mustafa Ali. The International Champion is expected to return to TNA on September 24th at the tapings in San Antonio, Texas. “Barring a major change, he will be involved in their top match on the live broadcast that night,” the report said.
Ali left TNA lockout With the international title, along with broken ribs and a punctured lung. He discovered his injuries from the hospital bed on the section August 27 episode On “Impact” while talking to his Lockdown opponent, Jason Hotch. Due to his injuries, Ali admitted to Hotch that things could have gone too far and asked his former stablemate for a truce.
At the time of the televised announcement, PWInsider Elite confirmed Ali’s injury was real and expected him to come out before TNA’s televised tapings this month. Injuries have also forced Ali to cancel two international matches scheduled for this month.
Over the weekend, Ali posted a video on social media with the caption, “I almost died.” In the video, Ali lies in a hospital bed while a voiceover notes his injuries and says his lung capacity is 30 percent. Ali is seen in a room full of water wearing a breathing mask while TNA clips air. The video ends with the words “Mustafa Ali returns on 24.9.2026”.
