Austin Creed is confident that he and his tag team partner Kofi can adjust to their new environment in AEW.
After 16 years in WWE, Creed left the promotion and is now finding his footing in his new home, AEW. Creed and Coffey recently chatted “Yahoo Sports:,” where Creed discussed his past experience adjusting to the new wrestling promotion, citing his career in TNA Wrestling to make his case.
“From my perspective, your son was born in the (TNA) X-Division. So I mean it’s nothing. We can change it as much as we want,” Creed said. “Kofi and I feel like chameleons in that sense. Once you throw us into an environment, we see what needs to be done and we can adapt pretty quickly.”
Creed spent three years in TNA before joining WWE in 2010, competing for the X-Division Championship several times, which he never won. Later in the interview, Kofi also spoke confidently about how he and his New Level counterpart can adapt and fulfill any role they are given in AEW.
“We’re a jack of all trades, you know, Swiss Army knives. We can do anything, and we do everything very, very well,” Coffey added.
The former WWE Champion spoke enthusiastically about his time in AEW, saying that their energy blended well with the atmosphere of the promotion.
After moving to AEW, Creed and Kofi revealed that they had many opportunities away from the wrestling ring too. The two discussed how they were AEW deals give them opportunities beyond wrestling that they are excited about. In the ring, the duo got their AEW career off to a strong start by winning the Trios Championship, which they unfortunately lost at the WrestleDream pay-per-view.
