Atlantic Notes: Bona, Edgecombe, Knicks, MPJ, Nets


Sixers center Adem Bono The team announced in a press release that he was diagnosed with a sprained left foot following an MRI and is expected to be re-evaluated at the start of training camp in a couple of weeks (Link to Twitter via Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports).

According to Tony Jones of The Athletic (Link to Twitter), Bono was injured in a World Cup qualifier while playing for Turkey. The 6’10” big man is expected to be back on the court within the first two weeks of training camp, sources tell Jones.

Bono, 23, averaged 4.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 17.4 minutes per game in 71 games during the 2025/26 regular season. The former second-round pick will compete with Ariel Hookporti to be Philadelphia’s top backup center Joel Embiid.

Appearing on a recent live stream (Kick the link), Porter said the trading supplement Julius Randle should help take some of the offensive pressure off him, adding that all of the team’s 2025 first-round picks “got a lot better” this offseason. “I don’t know what the expectations are for our team, but we will definitely exceed them” he said. When asked if he thought the Nets would win more than 50 games this season, Porter said, “Yes, I am.”
