Manchester City take their perfect Premier League record to Aston Villa on Saturday lunchtime.
Enzo Maresca’s men have managed to distance themselves from the club’s off-field troubles and have won seven of seven so far in the top flight.
Villa is also flying. Their Champions League campaign is now three wins from three after a 3-1 win over Viking on Wednesday, following wins at Club Brugge and Fenerbahçe. They also won 1-0 at Newcastle last weekend, a result that Tyrone Mings described as a sign that Villa are “slowly working towards cohesion”.
History is also on Villa’s side. They have won the last three meetings with City at Villa Park, and did the double against City last season.
