Conor McGregor’s ex-BFF Artem Lobov might be received several million dollars out “The Notorious” for helping the Irish sports star launch his hugely profitable Proper 12 whiskey brand, but McGregor paid up only after Lobov launched a contentious lawsuit.
Now, Lobov shares some thoughts on why McGregor has been so stingy when it comes to paying his friends to help him.
“He didn’t care about anyone, he amazed his coach and all his best friends,” Lobov wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Lee, Derek, Gerry Vegas, Charlie myself and others. Put their hands on the various deals they put in, the money came in but he didn’t pay what was promised.”
“He got a decent amount of credit with his whiskey deal that I negotiated and his manager Audie stole from him and me. I showed him unparalleled loyalty, I don’t say that lightly as a 40-year-old man. He got 100 million for Mayweather, what (head trainer) John (Kavanagh) got??? 100,000 if he never even paid 5%, I mean.
“She fired her best mate Derek, a father of 3, weeks before Christmas because Derek said Conor didn’t like it,” Lobov continued. “Paid Lee, founder and director of (TheMacLife.com), years before the payment 500 euros per week, agreed to pay Gerry 10,000 at the beginning of the camp + 10,000 at the end of the camp, then the 2nd would not pay 10,000. These are just a few examples.”
Lobov blamed drugs and alcohol for the change and claimed that McGregor is only fighting again to “support the habit.”
“We all met and wondered why he was doing this to us,” Lobov wrote. “And we came to the conclusion that his drink and drug abuse was bringing out the worst in him and a sober Conor would never mistreat his brothers like that.”
“Conor was my brother, I loved him like one. The whole truth and facts will come out. Drinks, drugs and irresponsibility is what brought all the trouble in his life. All this allegedly of course.”
Lobov has shared the story of how he did all the research and legwork to create the McGregor whiskey brand, only to be cut out of the operation once it got rolling. However, he was never able to clear it all up in court. The trial, Lobov and McGregor, was supposed to begin this week settled for several million dollars, pointing to Artem who is telling the truth.
How correct is Lobov in this case? It’s up to you.
