Veterans Center Aleksei LeonWorld Health Organization signed two-year contract with Baskonia earlier this month, has agreed to terminate his contract with the Spanish club, according to a press release.
Baskonia’s announcement, translated from Spanish, reveals that Len underwent a medical after joining the team, but began to experience discomfort in his previously injured leg. There are no signs that the big man, who has undergone further tests and consulted with medical experts in recent days, has suffered a new injury, but Len and Baskonia have agreed to part ways while he treats the discomfort.
“I would like to thank Baskonia, the staff, players and fans for their professionalism and support during my short time with the organisation,” – says Lena’s statement. “I wish them the best of luck this season.”
Len, 33, spent 12 years in the NBA from 2013 to 2025, playing 690 regular season games for six teams. However, he played a very limited role over the last few seasons in the league and was waived by the Knicks last fall after receiving a training camp invite. He spent the 2025/26 season in Real Madrid, coming off the bench.
