Alex Scott has retired from the England team and could miss the next two months with a quad injury.
The Bournemouth The midfielder picked up the injury on his first international start against Croatia on Saturday, playing 70 minutes before being replaced by Everton’s James Garner.
The 23-year-old will undergo further tests when he returns to the south coast club, but the Athletic report he could be out for up to eight weeks, which will be a blow to Cherries boss Marco Rose.
He has already been ruled out Tuesday night game with Czech Republic at Wembley.

Scott stars in Bournemouth
Scott has been a key player for Bournemouth this season, starting all five games, scoring once and providing an assist.
He also made a big impression for England, looking very comfortable alongside Elliot Anderson and Jude Bellingham in a three-man midfield that was instrumental in the Three Lions’ 7-0 win in Rijeka.
Scott has risen to prominence since joining Bournemouth in 2023 from Bristol City and is now regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the country.
Rose’s side are yet to win in the Premier League this season, recording three draws and two defeats. They visit Chelsea when the league resumes this weekend before home games against Sturm Graz in the Europa League and Sunderland.
