AHL joins NHL, NHLPA in Hockey Fights Cancer campaign | TheAHL.com

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League is once again proud to join the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players Association for themselves. Hockey Fights Cancer ™ presented by AstraZeneca by the V Foundation for Cancer Research campaign, uniting the global hockey community around the fight against cancer.

The campaign, which has united the hockey community since 1998, will use the power of storytelling, advocacy and fan engagement to support life-saving cancer research and inspire action through high attendance at the featured screenings. This year, 22 AHL member clubs have designated a home game as Hockey Against Cancer Night, with opportunities to include lavender jerseys, panels, tape, helmet decals and “I’m Fighting” cards. AHL and its teams also support various local cancer hospitals, clinics and advocacy groups.

Fans can get involved by sharing their stories using the official hashtag #HockeyfightsCancer or donate online at HockeyFightsCancer.com. Additionally, donations collected will also continue to support American Cancer Society and: Canadian Cancer Society Shelters in the US and Canada that help hundreds of people with cancer and their families every day with shelter, food, transportation, activities and emotional support.
