8 September: Brunei Darussalam is the latest member of the Asian Football Confederation to host the hybrid AFC Certificate in Football Administration and Management (ACFAM) programme, following courses held in the Krygyz Republic, Indonesia and Turkmenistan.
The program in Brunei Darussalam (FABD), started with 29 participants from the Association, clubs and other key football players. The courses aim to improve skills but at the same time keep participants connected to their local football environment while they are studying.
The online learning component is completed along with three on-site blocks prior to graduation in December.
The course is delivered in 12 modules covering “key areas of football administration, management and leadership, including lectures on the empowerment of women in football. Interactive learning activities, group discussions and case studies are integral components, with participants encouraged to exchange experiences, share ideas and learn from each other,” the AFC said.
The AFC has put its educational functions at the heart of developing executives and structures that it says will underpin the continued growth of football across the continent. The AFC Academic Center of Excellence (ACE) educational programs include the AFC Certificate in Football Leadership, the AFC Certificate in Child Safeguarding, the AFC Club Management Programme, the AFC Certificate in Strategy and Planning and the AFC Women’s Empowerment in Football Programme.
