Thunder Rosa is no stranger to tough matches. However, that doesn’t mean he wants to do another one right now.
during a recent interview with “ZackAttack”, The former AEW Women’s World Champion opened up about what it would take for her to compete in another extreme match like Blood & Guts.
“I’m going to rest on that one,” he said. “I love doing those (types) because I can be very creative, but at the same time I feel like we can tell stories in a different way. It has to be like a meaningful storyline to end with a Lights Out game. I just don’t want to be like, Oh, Street Fight. and everyone bleeds. None of those. I want it to really mean something.”
Earlier in her AEW career, Rosa Famously fought Britt Baker in the Lights Out Match. resulting in both bleeding. La Mera Mera won the match after sending Baker through the crash table with a Fire Thunder Driver.
In 2024, Rosa won the Texas Bullrope Match against Deonna Purazzo and emerged victorious again. Still, he admits that this and his other violent acts sometimes made him question himself.
“Yes, absolutely (I questioned myself),” he said. “But then I think, well, let’s make this memorable. So it means something not only to me, to my partner, but to the story and what we’re trying to tell.”
Last year, 12 AEW stars competed the first Women’s Blood & Guts gameMercedes Mone, Thekla, Skyle Blue, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir and Julia Hart won as a team. Whether the grueling clause will return to women in 2026 and possibly include Rosa remains to be seen.
