Mick Foley loves his time in AEW and he especially likes Tony Khan’s management style.
Foley spent most of his career in WWE but left after becoming unhappy with the promotion’s close ties to Donald Trump. The Hall of Famer talked to “Battleground Podcast:“About his time in AEW and how well he relates to Khan’s management style.
“Oh, I love it (in AEW). I love it, you know, Tony Khan makes it clear that he really appreciates his talent. He has great advice and it’s just a different management style. And that’s one that I accept, you know, better,” he said. “Of course, you know, WWE is obviously, you know, incredibly successful at doing things their way, but there’s no one way to cross the finish line, and I’m really happy where I’m at.”
Foley believes that WWE wrestlers have also benefited from AEW’s existence, detailing how the competition has forced WWE to pay its wrestlers better.
“You know, without AEW, WWE wrestlers wouldn’t be nearly the same. I heard they’re taking a pay cut now and it’s great to know there’s somewhere else to go,” added the legendary star.
Foley said he enjoyed his time in WWE but realized it was time for him to leave, and recently announced that he has no regrets about dropping the TKO-owned promotion. The hardcore legend has been making regular appearances on AEW television over the past few months in several segments as well as panels at various AEW pay-per-views.
