WWE Hall of Fame commentator and current AEW voice Jim Ross has been more than just behind the commentary desk during his WWE career. Former chairman Vince McMahon was often booked in storylines and angles.
Ross was booked once in a main event match at Madison Square Garden in a no disqualification match against Triple H, which he won with help from Batista. She also once participated in an intergender tag team match alongside “Stone Cold” Steve Austin against Triple H and Chyna at the Georgia Dome. He wasn’t a fan of either side, though, which he recently revealed An episode of Grilling JR.
“Some of those slides we did, I don’t call wrestling, I was ashamed to do,” he said. “I’m still ashamed to think about the days when I was ordered into the corner. Not fit, not trained. The popularity of the JR character was the only thing that made him work. It wasn’t my skills, for God’s sake.”
Good Ol’ JR revealed it he and McMahon mutually agreed to part ways when he announced that he was not renewing his contract with WWE in 2019. A few weeks later, AEW announced that they had signed the legendary voice “the most lucrative commentary deal in historyDue to a series of recent health issues, JR’s last match on the AEW roster was at AEW Double or Nothing in May.
