AEW boss Jeff Jarrett explained how his appearance at RevPro came about thanks to Will Ospreay’s conversation with the English promotion.
Jarrett remembered his “My world“His busy schedule during the podcast All In: over the weekend where he attended some AEW events. However, he had some time and wanted to catch RevPro’s 14th anniversary show at Wembley Arena on August 29, the day before All In.
“When I got off the elevator where we were doing it, Will Osprey was coming out of the office with his box and I said, “Hey Will, you got a second?” He said: “Yes.” And I said: “I have this show and this show, blah, blah, blah.” And I said, but tonight, RevPro, it’s right there because our hotel is literally next door to Wembley Arena and right around the corner is Wembley Stadium. RevPro is there. I said: “Do you think you can kind of raise your head or ask them? I’d like to go in the back door and kind of check this out.”
Ospreay checked with the RevPro and went back to Jarrett asking if he had his ring gear with him. After the Hall of Famer confirmed he brought it with him, Jarrett was added to the RevPro card, remembering how it was installed hours before the show.
“Will texts me. I didn’t answer because I’m doing (the event). Then he calls in the middle of it. I say: “Oh man, there’s got to be something.” He said: “I have a question for you. Do you have your outfit? And I said: “Well, you know the old saying. “The carpenter leaves the job without hammer, nails and tools.” And he said: “Well, I’ve just spoken to Andy (Quildan) and he wants to know, would you be interested? Literally everything went down around two or three or four o’clock on Saturday.”
Jarrett added the #1 Contendership Gauntlet match for the Undisputed British Heavyweight Title and said he had a lot of fun doing it.
