What made Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood fall in love with tag team wrestling?
For the former AEW World Tag Team Champions, the answer goes much deeper than just finding a lucky partner. In Wheeler’s case, it stretches back to his childhood, where he and his brothers would often fight in the backyard. In the following year, that passion for tag team wrestling turned into something bigger.
“I don’t know if it’s because you’ve got extra bodies and there’s a lot of ways you can misdirect behind the referee to draw attention where you want it to draw. There’s just something special about this kind of chemistry when it’s going well and when it’s done right,” Wheeler said. SB nation in a recent interview.
For Harwood, his love of art dates back to the days of the legendary video game console known as the Super Nintendo.
“I remember playing Saturday Night Slam Masters on the Super Nintendo with my friends and two of us could play on the same team,” he said. “It was three friends. Two of us could play on the same team while the other pretended to be a manager without a supervisor. I remember that’s where I honestly, as weird as it sounds, that’s where I fell in love with tag wrestling because a little connection through that video game that I’ll never forget with three friends on my street was something.
Wheeler and Harwood joined forces in real life under the WWE banner, where they were originally called The Mechanics. Later as The Revival, they captured the NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, making them the first Triple Crown Tag Team Champions in WWE history.
Since signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2020, Wheeler and Harwood have made more history as FTR, now three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions. Their last reign ended in May 2026 when Adam “Edge” Copeland and Christian Cage defeated them in an “I Quit” match.
