AEWs Darby Allyn never met a death-defying trick she couldn’t handleor a a mountain he could not climb, such as Everest. So it would only make sense that the current AEW TNT Champion would attempt to run the New York City Marathon without training for it and still finish the race. Accepting to: Instagram: On Sunday afternoon, Aline posted a photo of herself at the marathon finish line with a medal at the TNT championships.
“The NYC Marathon is over.” Aline said: “5:35:14. I wanted to challenge myself and not train at all and see what happened. What a wild experience, now it’s time for Blood & Guts. Thank you Kulture City.”
Marathon live results page confirmed that Allyn ran the race and finished it in 5 hours, 34 minutes and 34 seconds, which was slightly better than the time Allyn had given in her post. As Aline briefly mentioned and seen in her Instagram photo, she was sponsored by Team KultureCity, a non-profit organization specializing in sensory inclusion change and has been associated with AEW since the promotion’s formation in 2019.
Aline’s marathon run comes within a week of the former AEW Men’s World Champion putting himself through the ringer. Last week he successfully defended the TNT Championship against Josh Alexander in a grueling match at AEW Dynamite and just days later traveled to Mexico City where he lost to CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechikero at the Mexico Arena.
As Allin hinted, his toughest test of the week could be Wednesday, where he will take part in the Men’s Blood & Guts match. Aline will take on current AEW Men’s World Champion Will Ospreay, AEW World Tag Team Champion The Young Bucks, Adam Copeland, and Stephen Borden, and face the Don Kallis Family of Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis, Jake Doyle, Wardlow, and AEW International Champion Kazuchika Oki.
