The wrestling world has been in mourning since the evening of September 27, when it was announced that AEW star Pac had died at the age of 40. In honor of Pak, September 30 episode of AEW Dynamite was dedicated to him and opened with both the ten bells and the last shot Puck was involved with before his death.
The show opened with a few words from Excalibur and Tony Schiavone before Schiavone directed the fans to the big screen where the last documented footage of Pac before his death was shown. The footage was of John Moxley surrounded by Death Riders outside the NOW Arena shortly after his loss to Will Ospreay at AEW All Out 2026.
“Anyone who has the guts to do what it takes to be great… to be truly great.”
after #AEWAllOut, @JohnMoxley: reflects with raw honesty, hard-won perspective, and reminds us that greatness has its costs.

In the promo, Moxley congratulated Osprey on his victory, but warned that the real work had just begun. He talked about how to cherish the life you have and make every second count while you’re alive because you only get one life. Amazingly, Moxley talked about eulogies, funerals, and how you want to be remembered after you lose your life, and how you should remember others when you lose them. The promo ended with Moxley leaving the frame, followed by the rest of the Death Riders, with Pac being the last to leave.
Back in the arena, everyone bowed their heads in silence for the ten ring salute, and the entire AEW roster gathered on the entrance ramp. Lots of tears were shed as many AEW performers wore Pac armbands and shirts. shirts, which are available for purchase, with all proceeds going to the Satterley family. Others had various tributes and totems for him, such as referee Bryce Remsburg, who was holding Pac’s trademark towel.
