“The Garmin Approach R10 has been out since 2021 and was the wearable giant’s first GPS and monitor launch,” Hirsh wrote. “Five years later, it’s still one of the best launch monitors at its price.
“What I think separates the R10 from some of its competitors in the sub-$500 market is its ability to capture spin data without radar-capturing golf balls. This handy tool made a big difference for Jack Hirsh during the long, cold winter in the Northeast this year—even when he ventured south to play golf in (slightly) warmer weather.
“It’s super easy to use and it heats up extraordinarily fast to the point where you can turn it on, hit a golf shot and by the time you put your hands back on, it’s already heated up,” he wrote. “Version 4.0 has new batteries that not only support USB-A and USB-C charging, but can also charge other devices (like your phone). “It’s rock,” wrote GOLF’s Josh Berhow in a review published earlier this year. “The sound quality and bass are exceptional. I almost felt bad for the other car in our group who was playing music on his phone speaker.
“The JBL gets all the other stuff right, too,” he continued. “It’s not huge and it’s easy to transport, the battery life is phenomenal and it’s a breeze for someone to sync their phone via Bluetooth to take a turn with the playlist. You can also use it outside the golf course. On a charge, mine lasted 36 holes plus a few hours on the boat later.
