After an impressive showing A 20-woman battle royal last week on WWE NXT where she defeated La Catalina, Kali Armstrong earned a shot at the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. this week’s episode of the show.
Armstrong tried to beat Catalina to start, but the champion continued to dance and taunt his opponent. Catalina sent Armstrong to the apron with a big boot and then took him to the floor with a thigh drop off the ropes. He went for a flying crossbody, but Armstrong caught him and slammed him to the floor.
Catalina avoided another dropkick on the exposed concrete after Armstrong pulled out one of the mats around the ring, and she sent Armstrong over the steps, then leapt over them to take him out. Catalina was in control as the women returned to the ring until she went up top where Armstrong took her down. Armstrong kicked Catalina while she was hanging upside down and hit a spear.
The challenger jumped Catalina’s face off the top rope and hit her with hard rights before catching her. Catalina was able to snap out of it and then hit a missile launcher to knock them both out. Catalina got to her feet first and took Armstrong down with a dropkick and a hip to the corner before dropping her face first into the mat.
Armstrong avoided another hip attack while hanging off the middle rope and hit the champion with a power slam. He ran to the ropes for the Kali Connection, but Catalina tossed him out of the ring, sending Armstrong crashing to the concrete. Catalina hit the Big Shining Witch to retain her Reina de Reynas title.
