24 September: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has completed its first Club Management Program (ACMP), graduating 35 participants from clubs, leagues, Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs).
The nine-month educational programme, delivered as one of the courses offered by the AFC Academic Center of Excellence (ACE), is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of professionals involved in club management by providing them with practical tools and processes to navigate an increasingly dynamic club football landscape.
The curriculum combines pre-recorded and live learning modules, including lectures, group activities, case studies, practical assignments and knowledge sharing sessions.
AFC Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations Vahid Kardany said: “A strong football club is based on more than what happens on the pitch. It requires good governance, responsible leadership, financial discipline, strong relationships, clear communication and innovation.
“This is why initiatives like the AFC Club Management Program are so important. They are part of the AFC’s wider aim of developing future-ready clubs by investing in the people who manage them, who in turn drive positive change, strengthen the foundations of the Asian game and secure the future of continental club football.”
The ACMP curriculum comprises 10 modules including: History and Evolution of Professional Football Clubs; Governance, ownership and regulatory environment; Interest groups and relationship management; Leadership, culture and strategic alignment; High Performance Club Features; Financial governance and sustainability; Income generation; Communication, Corporate Affairs and Brand Engagement; Innovation and Digital Growth; and Clubs, Community and Social Responsibility.
