5 Smartest Wedge Buys For 2026

The wedges decide your score, but it’s the golf clubs that take the longest to replace.

For what?

Part of the reason is that it’s hard to know what to buy. In our testing, most wedges perform almost identically in a full swing. The difference is seen at 50 yards and in the wet where some wedges hold their back and others lose more than half.

In 2026, the Kirkland Signature (our best overall wedge) it’s a smart buy for many golfers, but you already know that. For this list, I focused on the best of the rest and looked for the following performance benefits:

  1. It behaves in any condition. We test full swings, 50 yard shots and 50 yard shots in the wet. A wedge that fails in one of them does not do its job.
  2. The price is justified. It shouldn’t be cheap, but premium wedges cost around $180 or more, so it should be worth it.
  3. You’ll always be glad you bought it next season. That comes to listen, grind the options and if it suits the way you play.

Here are the 5 Smartest Wedge Buys for 2026, counting down.

5. Cleveland RTZ

U RTZ it does something most wedges can’t. When we add water our 2025 testto RTZ earned spin, they finished at 105.3 percent of their dry number, the best wet retention of any wedge that year. He scores an 8.4 overall and accuracy (8.2) is the softest part of his game. Whether you’re playing early tee times or wet courses, the Cleveland RTZ performs the same way every time and makes for a smart buy.

4. TaylorMade MG5

U Milled Grind line it won our wedge tests for years before the PING S159 took the title in 2024. It was the 2025 runner-up at 8.8 overall with a 9.1 for consistency. It was also one of the best wedges in the test for dispersion and distance control and kept 98.4 percent of its spin in the wet. If you want a wedge that does the same thing shot after shot, the MG5 it’s a safe bet.

3. Titleist Vokey SM10

U SM10 it was the most accurate wedge in our 2024 test of 26 wedges, scored 9.1, and had the best subjective appeal of any wedge we tested. With the SM11 now on the shelves, the SM10 is the previous generation and our data says it’s still one of the best wedges we’ve tested. If you want Vokey’s grind options and precision without paying full price, the SM10 is still a smart buy.

2. Titleist Vokey SM11

U SM11 finished third in our 2026 test at 8.9 and won the best per spin. It is also the only wedge in the test that did not lose any spin in all wet conditions, producing 6,857 rpm dry and 6,860 wet. Testers also voted it the best for sound, feel and look. Vokey offers a wider range of lofts, bounces and grinds than almost any other brand, so you can match the wedge to your swing and your course.

1. Mizuno Pro T-3

U T-3 it was the best wedge of our 2025 test. It won the best for accuracy, consistency and spin, finishing at 8.9 overall, and it kept 97 percent of its spin in the wet. It’s a forged wedge with a shallow cavity that adds a little forgiveness and PGA TOUR Superstore has it for $129.98, marked down from $179.99. If you need to put more than one wedge in your bag this season, this is a good place to start.
