The San Francisco 49ers signed head coach Kyle Shanahan to a contract extension early last season, a team source said on condition of anonymity because the transaction was not made public. Details of the contract have not been disclosed.
Shanahan, 46, is in his 10th season coaching the 49ers. of San Francisco In Melbourne, Australia, the Los Angeles Rams won 27-7It was his 150th regular season game with the team in the season opener, one shy of Bill Walsh’s most in franchise history. The 49ers are 83-67 in those games.
He also appeared in 14 playoff games, matching Walsh’s total, going 9-5 in two Super Bowl games (both losses to the Kansas City Chiefs) and two other trips to the NFC Championship Game.
