Before this season, the NFC West was expected to be the most competitive three-team race in football, with the Rams as the favorite, the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks close and the 49ers a good team but a clear third. Six weeks into the season, things look different.
The 49ers are now 6-0 and overwhelming favorites to win the NFC West. In fact, with betting odds at -650, the 49ers are the biggest favorites to win their division of any team in the league.
The Seahawks are a distant second at +630, the Rams are third at +1200, and the Cardinals are the NFL’s longest shot to win their division at +15,000.
The 49ers hold a three-game lead over the 3-3 Seahawks and a four-game lead over the 2-4 Rams and Cardinals, and the 49ers have already beaten all three division rivals head-to-head. It would take something completely unforeseen for the NFC West to end any other way than with the 49ers on top.
The NFL’s biggest division favorites are the Jaguars at -290 to win the AFC South. The Chiefs are -250 favorites to win the AFC West, the Bills are -200 favorites to win the AFC East, the Panthers are -120 favorites to win the NFC South, the Ravens are -110 favorites to win the AFC North, the Vikings are +105 favorites to win the NFC North and the Cowboys are +1 favorites to win the NFC North.
