At the last Solheim Cup game in 2024, the United States team won back the Cup with an inspiring performance on home soil at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia. The important victory came after the Americans had suffered three consecutive defeats in the biennial event.
This year, Team Europe – led by the captain Anna Nordqvist and star players like Charlie Hull and Lottie Woad – will be hungry to win back the Solheim Cup in front of their European supporters.
Meanwhile, the US team – with the captain Angela Stanford the stars Nelly Korda, Rose Zhang and more – will try to dash the home team’s hopes and improve their all-time record to 12-8.
The format for the Solheim Cup is reminiscent of the Ryder Cup. It will be played over three days, with alternating team and fourball matches on Friday and Saturday, followed by singles matches on Sunday.
