On last week’s episode of WWE NXT,“John Cena invited Zillah Fatu to compete in the John Cena Classic, a special tournament event scheduled to take place next month. As revealed Fatu’s latest vlogthis invitation also came with a number of gifts.
Fatou received several notable gifts, including a “challenge coin” that could be used in the John Cena Classic. The coin’s power, as well as how to activate it, remains unknown, however, as Fatu wanted to leave those components a mystery. A member of the Samoan dynasty was presented with a total of three coins, all of which were engraved with proverbs. One read “Comparison is the thief of joy”; another read “Memento Mori,” a Latin phrase for a reminder of one’s own mortality. The third wrote one of Sena’s famous mantras. “Rise from hate!”
Inside the bag, Fatou received more gifts: a “Rise Above Hate” jacket, John Cena Classic playing cards and a watch emblazoned with Cena’s inspirational quote and the tournament’s eponymous name. The “NXT” star also discovered a book that seems to explain the meaning of his gifts.
The first John Cena Classic will open on a special edition of “WWE Raw” on Monday, December 14, originating from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Stars from “NXT,” “WWE SmackDown” and “WWE Raw” will clash on the show, with the fan-voted winner taking home the all-new John Cena Classic-branded title belt. For now, Fatou and the former WWE Undisputed Champion SmackDown’s Cody Rhodes are the only confirmed entrants.
