Fletcher and Knight are undefeated in their last four matches as a duo, including a victory over the reigning champions at September’s Rebel Heart edition of AEW Dynamite. However, it was a tables match where Fletcher and Knight got the help of FTR. There’s a chance Fletcher walks out of WrestleDream as a two-time champion, like he will challenge Darby Allyn for the AEW TNT Championship at the AEW Grand Slam France on October 6.
Elsewhere on the WrestleDream card, Thekla will challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship, a title currently held by Mercedes Mone. However, Monet will defend her title against Queen Aminata at the French Grand Slam, with the winner facing Thekla at WrestleDream. The AEW World Championship will be on the line in the main event first ever Clockwork Carnage MatchA combination of a Casino Gauntlet Match and a bout not too dissimilar from WWE’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Will Osprey is the reigning champion, but he’s defending his crown against Kazuchika Okada at the Grand Slam in France, meaning there’s no guarantee he’ll make it to WrestleDream as champion.
