For most of his WWE career, Paul Heyman has been seen in his trademark suit and tie combo, with the Hall of Famer recently explaining the reason for his style choice.
During his ECW days, Heyman wore a long coat and hat, but ditched them for a more corporate look in WWE. It screen manager stars like CM Punk, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, Heyman recently said, Graham Bensinger that a suit and tie are now part of his character and that he is rarely seen wearing anything else.
“Yes, that (suit and tie) is what people expect from me. I’ve also been photographed like this in flip flops and shorts running to the local store and, you know, I had a ripped T-shirt, and some truck will drive by and the guy will stop and go; And I’m not going to say no. I’m not going to be rude. So I end up taking a selfie and it goes on the internet and I’m, you know, in a pair of shorts with one testicle hanging off and fingering,” Heyman joked. “(It bothers me) because I’m out of character. This is who they pay to see. If you ask a Paul Heyman fan, their image of me is, I swim in this (suit and tie).
Heyman also pointed out how it makes his understated look more appealing when he has to reveal another side of his character in a story.
The veteran wrestling personality has used this to his advantage on several occasions, especially when Solo Sikoa tried to take over The Bloodline a few years ago. The situation clearly took a toll on Heyman, the stress evident on his face.
