Following his Last Man Standing victory over Randy Orton At WWE Crown Jewel, Cody Rhodes is looking for a change of pace, something less intense and more fun. That’s why he’s now bidding to lead Team USA to Survivor Series. In the upcoming WarGames qualifier.
on WWE Crown Jewel aftershowRhodes claimed that his long, bloody feud with Orton, his former mentor, had “hijacked” his joy for professional wrestling. However, he is looking to turn things around as he heads into WWE’s next premium live event.
“The melancholy and depth of it all is not for me, not for me. I’d like something light, fun, even if it’s a fun competition,” Rhodes said. “Rey Mysterio is there on Stephanie’s podcast talking about Team Mexico vs. Team USA. Sounds great! He will lead the Mexican team. I would like Team USA. Guide them. Find my team! That sounds like something I’d like to do. Rey Mysterio, if you hear me, let’s do it in Survi.
As previously announced, traditional five-on-five Survivor Series match Survivor Series on November 28th. The US will take on Mexico at WarGames, with WWE Hall of Famer and AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio named as the captain of Team Mexico. If Mysterio accepts Rhodes’ offer, “The American Nightmare” will face him for the United States tag team.
So far, this classic Survivor Series bout is the only one confirmed for the upcoming PLE. Rumored is another WarGames Match which will pit 946 against The Bloodline.
