WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green has had plenty of wins over the past week, though still recovering from a broken orbital bone. First, WWE quietly dropped the “intermediate” from his championship reign, and then he defeated Nia Jax in her first defense of the gold After winning a five-woman ladder match at WWE SummerSlam. Greene and her husband, Matt Cardona, appeared on Notsam Wrestling in the week following the game, and the champion explained that he received unexpected feedback about the online defense.
“I thought it was a hit, but the internet told me otherwise,” Green said. “One thing about them, they stay to humiliate me. For 13 years, I can’t get a big head.”
Green won the match with the Unprettier with Jax on the ropes after avoiding the Annihilator, but the finish looked a little rough. Cardona shrugged it off, saying “no one takes good flight notes,” and Green said the first time he said it, he knew he was right.
“See, my friends are also very real with me. Jordynne Grace? Very, very real,” Green said. “Whether I want to hear it or not. He told me he enjoyed the game. That’s what I trust.”
The champion quit X (formerly Twitter) due to harassment over the summer.including death threats. He said the online response to Jax’s game felt “personal” as he told Mexico it was amazing out loud.
“The problem is, I’m also preaching that if I’m going to believe the good stuff, I’ve got to believe the bad stuff,” he said. “I’m really committed to it, but then it’s like. “Okay, right now, I better not believe anything.”
