After signing with WWE through the NIL program in 2023, Kendall Gray has since risen to the top of the NXT Women’s division, holding the NXT Women’s Championship 62 days ago. leaving the title to Kelani Jordan in August with a reported injury that likely contributed to his loss. Since last year, Gray has been in a tag team with Ren Sinclair, who has been with his partner since, even going on to challenge Jordan for the title over Gray.
In a recent interview “Wrestling without competition” Sinclair discussed his friendship with Gray. “When I first got here, Kendall was here before me at the Performance Center and she kind of greeted me,” she said, adding that her experience in India was that the girls weren’t as pretty while the locker room was full of guys. “He’s a real genuine person. So to finally be able to put it on screen. I feel like people can tell that we’re friends and that the way we support each other is real, it’s not something that was forced together.”
According to Sinclair, the two of them also spend time together outside of wrestling, which is completely new to him. He mentioned how often wrestlers only hang out with each other in an angle but secretly dislike each other, while with him and Gray, they often have to turn around to focus on segments. Sinclair’s praise doesn’t end with Gray as a friend. “She’s probably the best women’s wrestler in the industry right now in the ring,” he declared. “It’s actually crazy how quickly he picked this up.”
After his absence from television, Gray has since returned to NXT, first in vignettes and then in person. He has since begun his partnership with Sinclair and the two have once again found themselves side by side.
