When it comes to winning championships, Wheeler Utah has had success in recent years as three-time ROH pure champion and a singles reign with the AEW World Triathlon Championship. However, Utah has his sights set on another string of titles, and he wants to win them with Death Rider by his side.
during a recent interviewA wrestling classicYuta was asked about him and Daniel Garcia competing for the AEW World Tag Team Championship earlier this year and if that’s something he and Garcia are still thinking about. Yuta explained that he has so much chemistry with Garcia that they would be foolish not to at least try to win gold. It’s like it’s been a lot of fun being on a team with him, we have similar styles, similar views on wrestling. I’d like to go after the tag titles, I’d like to just keep teaming with him, you know? He’s my friend and it’s been an absolute blast and I think we’re really good together.”
The AEW World Tag Team Championships are currently held by The Young Bucks, who began their fourth reign as champions at AEW All Out 2026. They will defend their crowns at the upcoming AEW WrestleDream 2026 pay-per-view Against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight of the Don Callis family, who earned their shot by defeating Darby Allyn and Stephen Borden in the same event. Neither Yuta nor Garcia have ever held any tag team gold in AEW, nor have any members of the Death Riders at the time of writing, but as time goes on, they will want that to change.
