Matheus Cunha was denied a goal during Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilian thought he had broken the deadlock for Michael Carrick’s side, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside as United were frustrated in their attempts to go ahead.
It was another frustrating moment for the visitors, who arrived in west London under pressure after a difficult start to the 2026-27 campaign, and created several good chances in the first half.
United had endured a miserable run of results heading into the competition, winning just once in their opening eight Premier League games.
Carrick’s men were also looking to respond to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth the previous weekend, which had left them sitting in 16th place in the table.
Chelsea, meanwhile, entered the match in fifth place but were also looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats to Tottenham and Liverpool in the Premier League and Carabao Cup respectively.
The home side had their own early frustration as Estevao saw an effort ruled out for offside, before Cunha was denied at the other end.
