EAGAN, Minn. – Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray remains in concussion protocol. Coach Kevin O’Connell said Murray is making progress, but his status for this weekend’s game against the Chicago Bears remains uncertain.
Murray was hit hard in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. The 29-year-old washed out of the pocket and swung to his right. As he slid, Packers safety Javon Bullard and edge rusher Lucas Van Ness collided with him, causing a heavy knock to the head.
Murray’s helmet came off. After lying on the floor for several minutes surrounded by medical staff, he went to the locker room with Vikings director of sports medicine Matt Duhamel. He was fast. He will be out of the game. with shock.
The Vikings rallied late to beat the Packers
“When I saw him come off the field, I was very, very happy,” Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson said. “To see him in the locker room, a smile on his face, congratulating the guys is definitely good news. Hopefully, we’ll get him back early.”
Minnesota’s offense struggled on the first two drives under Murray. He completed 3-of-5 passes for 18 yards. He also threw an interception in the face of the Packers’ pressure.
The Vikings beat Green Bay On the back of an inspired performance from backup Carson Wentz. Minnesota’s defense also jammed Packers quarterback Jordan Love to close the game. An NFC North win would give the Vikings some breathing room ahead of their matchup with the Bears in Chicago. If Murray is unable to play, Wentz is expected to start the game.
