Nazim Sadikhov explains Jefferson Nascimento’s withdrawal after injury
Sadykhov said that he got an injury at the beginning of the training camp and has been dealing with it for more than five weeks. He and his team originally planned to work around the problem, but decided to back off when they learned Nascimento was out of the game.
“Hello guys. Good news and bad news,” Sadykhov wrote on Instagram. “The bad news is that I won’t be fighting at MSG. I got injured in the first few days of camp and have been dealing with them for over 5 weeks now. The original plan was to get over it and still fight. My opponent withdrew due to injury, so me and my team decided to let the UFC know that there was no replacement. The good news is that I don’t need any injuries or any surgery to recover and I won’t be able to bounce back soon. Thank you to everyone who with me, see you soon.
Sadikhov (11-3-1) went undefeated in his first five UFC bouts before suffering TKO losses. Meanwhile, Nascimento (13-1) suffered his first pro loss in his UFC debut in June.
