In week two, Jaguars cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter had just 31 defensive snaps. As expectedhe got a lot more in week 3.
Hunter was on the field for 45 defensive tackles in a game that featured his first career interception.
Offensively, he continues to not do much. After taking six snaps in Week 2, he took just five in Week 3. He was not targeted in either game.
And so it looks like the Jaguars are moving him toward being a full-time cornerback and part-time receiver.
Whether that means he has accepted his apparent fate remains to be seen. it wants to play with both sides of the ball. He wants to have the ball in his hands. And he seems to worry that, if he only plays defense and successfully closes the half court, he will rarely touch the ball.
Regardless, his best long-term interests might be best served by just playing defense. Especially since the Jaguars have a large collection of receivers.
