There is always something new in golf. New clubs, new clothes, new shoes, new bags and the occasional product that comes completely out of left field. Instead of covering each launch with an independent story, This week in Golf Gear is a quick look at the new releases, collaborations and products that have caught the eye.
Foresight GC2 Launch Monitor
The forecast is new GC2 represents a dramatic shift for a company best known for pro-grade launch monitors with pro-grade price tags.
At $1,699, the GC2 it’s Foresight’s first real move into a more accessible consumer price point. It uses two high-speed cameras, includes a new color display and can be used indoors or outdoors. You get ball speed, launch angle, launch direction, total spin, side spin, tilt axis, carry distance and total distance, and Foresight says it delivers the same optical accuracy as its more expensive units.
The big omission is club data. Foresight uses both cameras strictly for measuring the ball, so the GC2 don’t try to infer the club’s metrics. That makes the positioning a bit unusual, especially when you compare it to the GC3 and Bushnell Launch Pro.
However, this is a very interesting launch. Enter the Foresight ecosystem for substantially less money, with no subscription required for basic functionality, plus access to the company’s new Premier software and revamped mobile app.
Ace Beard indicated earlieris equal parts confusing and exciting, but at $1,699, the GC2 could open up Foresight to a whole new group of golfers.
Sun Mountain E-Series Stand Bags

Sun Mountain has cooled its Family Eclipse stand-bag with a new name and a line of three more refined bags: the E-2.5, E-3.5and E-4.5 VLO.
The basic idea is quite simple. U E-2.5 is the lightest option focused on hiking at 4.4 pounds, the E-3.5 add more storage and come in five pounds, while the E-4.5 VLO it gets a top of 14 fairways, 14 dividers along the entire length, and is intended more for golfers who alternate between walking and riding. All three bags use full-length dividers, Sun Mountain’s new ergonomic dual strap system and an internal compression bottom designed to help keep clubs in place.
The price starts from $290 for the E-2.5$300 for the E-3.5and $315 for the E-4.5 VLO.
This is not a radical reinvention of the Sun Mountain stand bag. It is more of a refinement of a formula that the company already knows very well, with three distinct options depending on how you carry your clubs.
Putter PXG Torpedo ZT
PXG took the original Torpedo, moved the shaft connection to the center of gravity of the head and turned it into a zero-torque putter. The result is the Torpedo ZTand we think may be one of the best putters that PXG has released this year.
The center of gravity center of gravity produces tip balance and is designed to keep the face square to the path during the shot. PXG also builds in a forward print grade and keeps the classic Torpedo Spider-like shape intact instead of turning it into something more radical.
Where this seems to separate is felt. In personal testing, MGS legend, Dave Wolfe found that the Torpedo ZT it doesn’t feel disconnected like some zero torque putters. He says distance control is excellent, even on longer putts, while the 303 stainless steel construction and Pyramid Milled Face Pattern give it a soft but responsive impact feel.
U Torpedo ZT It also has adjustable sole weights, with the weight of the head varying from 357 to 392 grams, so there is room to tune the feel.
Pluto 2 golf shoes
Pluto Golf is back with the sequence of the P1and the new one P2 maintains the identity of the brand’s first sneaker while adding more substantial golf performance.
The big addition is the SoftSpikes traction, which should give the P2 more grip on the course without sacrificing the streetwear-heavy look that made the original stand out. Visually, Pluto is still drawn from classic sneaker culture, with design cues inspired by a number of iconic silhouettes.
U P2s they are not all. They’re bold, they’re fashion-forward, and clearly aimed at golfers who care more about what’s on their feet than in their golf bag. U P2 It looks like Pluto doubles down on exactly what made the P1 cool in the first place, while adding a few more features along the way.
Takomo LUMO putters
Look at it is officially in the putter business with the new one LIGHT M1 and B1.
U M1 is a compact bunch and the B1 it is a wider blade. Both are completely milled from 303 stainless steel and use a low torque, heel design intended to reduce face rotation through the stroke.
Our resident gentleman, John Barba spent some time with both of them and came away impressed with the stability and overall performance, especially once he did the distance control.
The price is predictably aggressive. U Satin Steel models are $219, while the Black DLC versions they are $239.
For a fully milled putter, it’s a lot of putter for the money.
