The Friedkin Group has confirmed it everton they are for sale
The club’s majority owners issued a statement this morning announcing they were looking for outside investment and would accept a full sale if they found the “right stewards to take the club forward”.
Everton were bought by the Friedkin Group in December 2024, ending an unhappy spell under Farhad Moshiri. They helped stabilize the Cubs financially, refinancing much of the debt and arranging lower-interest loans secured against Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But fans have been less than impressed with the trade on the pitch with Everton posting a rare profit in the summer transfer window after selling the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Beto to Manchester City and Fiorentina respectively.
TFG issued a statement on Friday that said: “The Friedkin Group is exploring new investment options for Everton Football Club, including the potential sale of a controlling stake.
“When the TFG became custodian of Everton, the club faced financial uncertainty and significant challenges both on and off the pitch. The immediate priority was to provide the stability, investment and support needed to secure the club’s future, including helping to complete the much-promised stadium for its much-deserved fans.
“With that foundation now secure, it is time to consider the next chapter for Everton. We only entertain interest from parties who we strongly believe will be the right stewards to take the club forward and build on the momentum that has been established.
“Throughout this process, TFG’s focus will remain unchanged. We will support the club in all ways necessary to achieve success on the field and continue efforts to make a positive difference in the communities the club serves.”
David Moyes’ team have made a good start on the pitch and will take his unbeaten record to Hull on Sunday.
