Terry Taylor (Spurs), Viktor Lakhin (Kings) Sign Camp Deals

The Spurs signed a free agent contract Terry Taylor on a non-guaranteed training camp contract, tweets Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot. San Antonio’s roster is back to its preseason high of 21 players after the team refused former North Carolina guard R. J. Davis on Tuesday.

Taylor has four years of NBA service under his belt, appearing in 98 regular season games for Indiana, Chicago and Sacramento from 2022-25. The 27-year-old has career averages of 4.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per night.

Taylor’s last stint in the NBA came in the second half of the 2024/25 season, when he signed a 10-day contract with Sacramento. The 6-foot-5 forward spent most of last season with the Brisbane Bullets in the Australian National Basketball League before returning stateside to join the Iowa Wolves at the end of the G-League season. He too fit for Team USA in the first of two World Cup qualifying windows in the 2026 offseason.

Taylor’s return rights were sent from Iowa to the Austin Spurs, San Antonio’s affiliate, in August tradeso it’s a safe bet that he’ll be waived before the regular season starts and will report to Austin. Assuming he signed Agreement 10that he will almost certainly be in line for a bonus of up to $91K on top of his G League base salary if he spends at least 60 days in the NBAGL.

Meanwhile, The necklaces also completed a non-guaranteed deal with camp, re-signing the center Viktor Lakhin to transaction Appendix 10 after refused him earlier this month tweets Spotrac’s Keith Smith.

The Stockton Kings acquired Lachin’s G League rights in the same six-team deal that brought Taylor’s rights to Austin, so it seemed the plan was for him to become Stockton’s returning player this fall and earn a $91,000 bonus in the process.

However, Sacramento’s frontcourt was depleted by injuries after Lachin was cut. Both Maxim Renault and Dylan Cardwell were ruled out for several weeks due to the knee and a calf injuries, respectively, at that time Dear Achiuwa exited Tuesday’s preseason game early with a right ankle injury (Link to Twitter via James Hamm of The Kings Beat). With the Kings in need of depth up the middle, Lachin could have an opportunity to claim the club open bilateral contract slot to start the regular season.

Lachin, who went undrafted out of Clemson in 2025, averaged 10.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 31 NBAGL games for the Oklahoma City Blue last season.
