September 27: The Jazz have officially signed Brown to a contract, the team announced in a press release.

While terms of the deal were not disclosed, it will likely be a non-guaranteed training camp contract in which Exhibition 10 language. That would have made Brown eligible for the bonus if he waived it before the start of the season and spent at least 60 days with Utah’s NBAGL affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars.
Brown, 28, went undrafted in 2022 after spending his final season at the University of Washington. The Seattle native has played in the G League for the past four seasons, committed to the Memphis Hustle in 2022-23 and the Greensboro Swarm — Charlotte’s affiliate — starting in the 2023 offseason.
Brown, who signed 10-year contracts with the Hornets in 2023 and 2025, averaged 11.9 points, 6.4 assists (1.6 turnovers), 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 50 games (25.7 minutes per game) for the Swarm last season. He struggled with scoring efficiency, hitting .404/.325/.782, but he helped Greensboro win the NBAGL championship in the spring.
In all likelihood, Brown will be waived before the start of the season and will head to the Stars to open the 2026/27 season. The Jazz currently have 14 players under guaranteed standard contracts, Mo Bamba under a partially guaranteed transaction, Harrison Ingram on Pact Annex 10 and all three bilateral seats are filled. Once Brown’s deal becomes official, the team will be 20 players under contract, one shy of the offseason cap.
