When? Austin Creed and New Level’s Kofi appeared in AEW at All In and helped Swerve Strickland win the AEW World Triathlon Championship.they did it with “New Level,” a 2015 hip hop hit by ASAP Ferg and Future, playing them in the ring. Meanwhile Licensing popular songs has never been something AEW has shied away fromThe theme of Creed and Coffey becoming “New Level” was one that could have been easily debunked. in an interview with “Hot 97”, Strickland revealed that the rights to “New Level” were acquired very late in the game, a fact that: as confirmed by both Creed and Coffey.
“They got that song about 24 hours ago from Ferg’s team,” Strickland said. “And they were like, ‘Yeah, we approve of that.’
Strickland referred to the chain of events as a “perfect global storm” at the time, with the song duly wowing the Wembley Stadium crowd for Creed and Coffey’s debut. More importantly, though, Strickland believes the song is a benefit to everyone involved, both making “New Level” a relevant song despite being a decade old, and zeroing in on Creed, Coffey, and even Strickland himself.
“It helps both sides,” Strickland said. “That puts ASAP Ferg back right there. “New Level” brings things to the fore, and then it brings New Level, you could say, like Kofi and Creed were like an older act. It brings them, it updates. Swerve has been in AEW for four years. I headlined at Wembley Stadium the last time we were there in 204. Trios Championships I’m new and refreshed, so it just breathes new life into the whole thing.
