Arsenal have made a smooth start to their Premier League title defense with three straight wins, including a 2-1 defeat of Chelsea at the Emirates last Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side, that too won 1-0 at Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday, they appear in fine form for their trip to Sunderland on Saturday, but the same could be said ahead of last season’s corresponding fixture.
On that occasion, arsenal it came after winning 10 games in a row and not conceding in eight. But they were given an almighty scare as goals from Dan Ballard and Brian Brobbey earned the Wearsiders a deserved point.
Sunderland they have taken four points from their first three games.
