September 17 – Woori Investment & Securities has signed an official sponsorship deal with LaLiga, the first time a South Korean financial company has partnered with the Spanish league.
The brokerage wants to use LaLiga’s Korean fan base to reach younger investors and boost its retail brand, and is relying on experiences rather than simple logo exposure. The firm will organize supporter trips to Spain to see Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona and Real Sociedad, as well as a program to see the Clásico in person. Events combining club and player content with financial services will follow, including game-style features in its mobile trading app that links football with wealth management.
A company official said: “LALIGA’s dynamic energy, which sets hearts racing around the world, aligns with Woori Investment & Securities’ spirit of challenge as we expand our financial territory,” they said, promising that the investment is “a pleasant experience.”
LaLiga Asia General Manager Ivan Codina said the deal allows the league to reach out to Korean fans through new content and experiences.
